Food & Feasting
Every one in Medieval times were fed whether it was a feast to a small meal, even peasant were provided with a small amount of food from the king to keep them healthy and ready to work. People with jobs like a farmer, fisherman, blacksmith or a miller had to pay for their own food from the money they earned. However the King had enough food to feed a castle as he had lots of money to buy the food and hire chefs to cook it for them. Starvation wasn't one of the major problems in Medieval times.
In Medieval times they didn't have all the crockery and utensils that we did so instead of knife and fork, they used knives and fingers and instead of bowls they would hollow out a loaf of bread and dished the food into that, and thick slices of bread were used for plates. The main meal of Medieval times was called Pottage it was a stew with cereal, herbs and meat in it, the luxury food was almonds but not many were able to afford them. People who were poor drunk ale, mead or cider however the wealthier were able to afood wines and other expensive alcohols.
